Roadmap
Scale in batches, gated by utilisation, green power and policy
Stage 1 · 0–12 months
0.5–2MW
Testbed & validation
Research, government and Mongolian-AI pilots; green-power contracts, PUE testing, cybersecurity audit and Data Law review.
Stage 2 · 12–36 months
10–50MW
Scale-up
Compute services for enterprise and regional clients, connected to the national network; a Mongolian corpus centre and training platform.
Stage 3 · after 36 months
100MW+
Join the national green compute ecosystem
Link to the national 100–200MW flagship and 1GW target to become a regional green compute hub.
Gates
No scale-up until gates are met
| Gate | Threshold | If not met |
|---|---|---|
| Utilisation | ≥ 70% for 3 consecutive months | Extend the pilot; expand virtualisation and scheduling first |
| Green power share | ≥ 60% certified green power contracted | Pause; secure long-term PPAs first |
| PUE | Measured ≤ 1.3 | Optimise cooling and rack layout before scaling |
| Compliance | Data Law and cybersecurity audit passed | No external clients; internal research only |
Site selection
The Gobi's cold climate and cheap power are natural advantages, but water, fibre redundancy, seismic and extreme-weather risk and cross-border grid stability must also be assessed.
